Hi there. My name is Andrew Begley. I'm a Christian, husband, father, general contractor, and remodeling specialist.
My Story
I first got into construction in 2008 in New Hampshire with my brother-in-law's. They were remodeling a run-down office building for a local radio station. I don't think I was much help then, but I enjoyed the work and found it interesting. In January of 2011, we moved to Colorado to build a cabin in Forbes Park for my father-in-law, and when that project never materialized I worked several temporary gigs in the San Luis Valley until I found a job working with the Amish. The gentleman I was working for was under pressure to finish some houses in Alamosa but was waiting on his plumber who had just lost his apprentice. I was asked to help him out temporarily so he could finish on time, and this ended up lasting almost a year.
Around June of 2012, it seemed my boss, the plumber, was about to lose his business over a lawsuit, so I fired myself preemptively. After working in so many trades and seeing how hard it was to find good help, I had the crazy idea to start a handyman business. I went door to door at first, handing out flyers and business cards, and eventually got a job working as a subcontractor for a property management company. They had 500+ rentals in the valley and I was the only guy they had that wasn't fixing P-Traps with duct tape. After several months, I landed a job in Forbes Park doing fire mitigation for a guy and then a flagstone patio. This one customer gave me so many referrals, that I never worked for that property management company again. Business took off and lasted until my wife and our kids moved to Texas in 2018, as Forbes Park was burning to the ground, and several years of my work was nothing but ash.
When we arrived in Texas, I got a job as a foreman for a company that built boathouses, but after my ill-tempered boss who was always yelling and rushing around like a maniac broke a guy's legs with a front loader, and then a guy on my crew's hand when loading some materials, I found a different job with a real estate/property management company that built homes and installed solar. I was hired as their project manager, and was put in charge of their entire construction division, but after some time I realized I was basically running someone else's business for half the pay, so I started my own business again. Long story short, we eventually moved to Florida to be near family and started this business (Craftsman Kitchen & Bath) while living there, and have come full circle once more to Colorado, where we are currently building our own home and plan to finally settle down.

If you're not bored yet, I plan to upload pictures of my past jobs and tell their stories, going back as far as I can remember. This will be a slow and casual project for me, but you can find what ever progress I have made on it here.
